SWYPE french Canadian keyboard!??

Hi all,

I've just installed swype 2.6.47...BUT I have kind of annoying problem.

I'm from Quebec..so we speak in french, but our Keyboard is QWERTY ( in france...it's azerty).

Swype doesnt let you choose wich keyboard you want... it takes the languages and if you select french, it automaticlly show the AZERTY one.

And if I choose American English... I do have the QWERTY, but with an english dictionnary. So if i write in french with an english keyboard... every single word is incorrect.

How can I fix this?

Anyone from Quebec who already found a solution?

Essaie ceci (je ne sais pas si ça va marcher avec Swype cependant...):

Paramètres - Langue et clavier - Saisie par défaut - Langue d'écriture - Si Français est coché, décoche et recoche le; il va alors t'offrir QWERTZ, QWERTY et AZERTY. Choisis QWERTY. Peut être que Swype va voir cette config et s'adapter dessus...

I found another web site where it show how to unpack the latest beta, add the language and repack it.

I also am interested in a solution. Kind of annoying, I have to switch to the default android keyboard to type in french.

The Bell Canada Galaxy S ship with a QWERTY-french Swype version. It should work on all WVGA devices.

The problem here is the licensed.
I tried to extract the language file and repack it in another Swype version but it didnt work. I know that Languages from 1.X are incompatible with 2.X releases. I tried to repack a 1.x without success...

I know this is not applicable to Swype in itself, but you can also give SlideIT Keyboard a try. SlideIT let you choose between French (Canada) and French (France).

As for Swype, I just installed it, haven't had the time to test it yet.

Have you signed the new swype file when you changed the language pack?

Is it possible for you to send me the french-qwerty ".zkb.le" file?
