Default HTC HD2 Random Reboots

So I have a modded HTC HD2, which will reboot by itself while Im running an app or on the internet browsing. Sometimes just randomly, I have had this current configuration on it since I got the phone. But this problem is happening more often now. Sometimes when it reboots I have to go through hell to get android to bootup again. Please direct me in the right direction to fix this, or if there is a better configuration of mods I could change to.

Android System 2.2.1 (FRG83) Nexus One
Chunky Rom

did you try the usual "format the sd card" method? if yes, try a different brand of sdcard. It may not seem obvious but sdcard have been found to effect just about everything on hd2 android including battery life, lag, SOD, phone call, etc.

Also, what radio version are you using?

I cant remember the radio? Where could I go to find it? Would unmounting my sd card cause me to have to recopy android to the card again?

I've experienced all the issues you have talked about. it drove me nuts. I have spent a lot of time reading in the forums here. I also, tried lot of different winmo roms and radios as well as droid builds. Many told me it was hardware issues. My gut feeling was always it was software related to droid. Most of it has gone away now. I did a task 29 and it didn't help cause the issues still took place. I reformat my sd card everytime i switch builds. Im using energy rom 21683 extreme from the 5th NOV. using 2.12.50.02_2 radio. droid build mdeejay froyo revolution 1.5 with is S2 smartass kernel that i download from his thread in hd2 droid development. Just stay with it and keep reading these forums and trying different combos. i hope some of this was helpful.

The radio can be seen when you first power on your phone...it's something like 2.10.xxx.xxx. The latest version is 2.15.50.xxx. Be very cautious when upgrading radio. Make sure you get the proper version that is meant for your phone.

Unmounting sd won't delete anything from your sdcard. Formatting will delete everything.

If you have trouble, try a new sdcard. That's my best advice. If that didn't help, try a new rom or update radio.

I had the same problem, I solved it by installing a different WinMo rom (went from Chucky to Energy standard). I'm using latest 2.15 radio and MDJ's revolution 1.4 android rom. I didn't format my SD card since it's pretty much full and I haven't formatted it for a while now. Did delete all the . folders tho.

I solved this problem by doing a re-install of my android bulild and not updating the kernel or installing autokill/task killer apps. This also solved my battery life issues, strangely. I can't draw many conclusions from this but at least it's something to try. I'm using bluetopia sense build.

I have had the same problem for a while and after several different android/kernel trials I have come to the conclusion that it's a kernel issue for me. So I can't use the modded OC kernels, cause I keep having random reboots. I just ported stock evo kernel (linux on wince) and that solved the problem for me, although other kernels (e.g mdj Sx) are smoother and faster...
