Default [Q] Get rid of language bar

I know one way of doing this is to use a different keyboard app but I haven't really found one that works as well as the stock one. Although if anyone can suggest a good one which has T9 keys (e.g. [abc] [efg] etc.) that fits well on the screen I'd like to know; I tried betterkeyboard but it took up too much of the screen I found and the keys were abit small.

Back to topic though, has anyone found a way to just get rid of the annoying language bar that pops up when using the hardware keyboard? I tried unticking the 'default input' option but that seems to screw up the virtual keyboard and eventually came back on anyway.

thanks for any help.

There is currently no 3rd party input method that has taken the Sym/áü button of the mini pro into consideration. I have taken this up and helped the author of Smart Keyboard with this problem, and he has said that it is on his to do list. http://www.dexilog.com/smartkeyboard....php?f=2&t=565 Hopefully it wont be to long before this is fixed. Otherwise I find the mentioned Smart Keyboard the one I am most comfortable with. Should give it a go
