Default My proximity sensor under froyo is buggy

Hello everyone,

I've the following problem:

When i call someone and the telephone is in a horizontal position the sensor isn't working correctly. When i put my finger on it the display doesn't turn off. If i hold the phone in a vertical position everything works like it should.

Can someone confirm this?

Sorry for my bad english.
Thanks in advance!!

Because nobody could help me and answer my question, I try to explain it better.
It would be very nice if some people could test the following steps:

1. Put the telephone on a desk/table
2. Call a number for example your mailbox
3. Put your finger over the proximity sensor

-> Is your Display turning off or is it staying on ?

This is what i want to know and I thank you for few seconds doing this test

For what it may or may not be worth, covering the sensor with my finger does nothing, but my screen does actually turn off when I've got the phone to my ear.

...and here's the trick: if the phone is held vertically, covering the sensor with my finger works!

Yeah when the phone is vertically - no probs, too.
But try to make a call when you lie in bed :)
That won't work, but wtf samsung?

In Eclair the sensor works perfect. and it doesn't matter if the telephone is held vertically or horizontally !

With the Skype telephone app, there's no problem.
So i think the Phone.apk is the problem for that.

Is this possible to fix? I can't do this because i am a noob ;)
But maybe others ?
