Well first you need to know your full phone name
For example :

mine is HTC HD7 T9292
Then you find you phone model in the forum and then find the appropriate ROM you need.
But be aware! - If your not fully aware of what your doing and if you dont follow instruction carefully it is a big change that you may do more harm than good to your phone.
If you crash your ROM on the phone it is a big possiblity that the waranty wont be valid.

So be carefull- Better to read instructions 10 times, other then messed it up!

Well for example, you can fully see all data on your phone and see which aplication is maybe too large to be on your phone, you can costumize ringtones as you said (which is better than to listen to this dingdongs on the phone, and they sound pretty retarded)....

Also a big feature for me is that I can upgrade my phone SMS language which is a big + for me.
Also you can add some usefull aplication found on forum that R otherwise costly on the market.

The point of jailbraiking the WP7 is to fully use your phone, see all your data, you can even get a Navigation for your phone....

I managed to flash the original rom from my HD7, but still can not unlock it. Even disabling all the https protocol through the manager it gives the program encountered an error and needs to close.

Anyone help?

I'm using version 7.0.7008.0, I have the certificate on the device and has already changed the windows registry with the key 32-bit dword.
I can not edit the hosts file, my windows does not give me permission to move it, change it or delete it.

What should I do? I am absolutely lost.

I have bought used HTC HD7 in India. It shows O2 splash screen when it boots. I use Vodafone prepaid sim in it.

OS Ver: 7.0.7392.0
FW: 2250.09.16901.206

1. How can I check if the phone was unlocked by Chevron or O2?
2. If I update the phone via Zune, will it re-lock again?

I am afraid to connect the phone with Zune online as I am afraid it might re-lock. So please tell me if it would be ok to do so?

Thanks
Mani

I installed the cert, but it can't connect to the phone.
It does see if it's locked or not, however.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Unlocking successful under Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on a MacBook Pro with Boot Camp (This may include some drivers for the jailbreak)
