I know this was kind of asked before but I just want to clearify...

Now, for my phone, your previous guide worked perfect first time, then this one without a hitch. Now, My buddies phone will not take root or S-off with any method I have tried from your other post which is just strange because they are the same phone lol, but, without doing the eng Hboot, I can still flash recovery/roms on it, just not other carrier roms? I dont want to try getting the Hboot to stick again if I dont have to.

If you got s=off with this guide hboot will stick without any problems. You really do want the eng hboot though as it is wide open in terms of security checks compared to the stock hboot.

BUT! OP, please mention in your tutorial (for n00bs like me) that all gfree folder has to be pushed to /data/local

I was confused between gfree "file" and "files"
I unziped all files to SDK\tools at first and I was pushing only gfree file....
just add all content of unziped gfree has to go to /data/local

Actually, I changed the OP around to tell users to only copy the gfree file. The rest of the files are source code that comes with it b/c of the gnu license and you don't really need them for it to work. Glad it worked for you.
