OK,

you didn't tell me if you run in a webbrowser:

Code:
http://127.0.0.1:8080
(or using 9090 to which you changed it)

if you can you see the Web-interface of VLC?

Yes, of course i tested the webinterface on my computer.

I typed in http://192.168.178.10:9090 and then i can see my vlc-webinterface.

But with 127.0.0.1:9090 i can see nothing.

Just an update:

After further testing, I got streaming working remotely (3G) as well. Both for Enigma1 and Enigma2.

I will now adapt AndroidDreamer and provide different souts suitable for 3G-streaming with possibility to change bit-rate and so on.

The set-up for 3G is a bit complicated but once it has been set up, it's there and there is no further need to change it.

Please stay tuned.

Hi, I've gotten this to work once.. on a desire hd.. I've tried to follow all of your instructions and it just don't want to work.. the really wierd thing is that when I was about to give up, I't just started to work.. I watchen for maybe 30sec, went out, tried to stream again and now it aint working again... I was pretty sure that it was the phone that was the trouble but now I think that it might be vlc... Can you please make some more instructions of how to set up vlc? (maybe some kind of advanced config or something... )

You donīt have to set up vlc. If you have a connection, then it will work.

Settings in .host and change to web-interface, thatīs all.

I have a HTC HD2 with android from sd-card, there it doesnīt work. Seems to be an issue with the rom from sd-card. Maybe it will work with upcoming nand-roms.

Can someone post which phone will work with this app?

Device: HTC HD2 (Leo) European Version
Radio: 2.15
ROM: tytung NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10.1 V2.2 with DataOnEXT

Hmm...there is nothing particular about VLC. You only need to do what I wrote in the instructions:

1) Install VLC (I have tested with VLC 1.05 and 1.15) on a computer. I have tested only Windows but it might work on Linux and MAC as well.

2) Start VLC, go to View -> Add Interface -> Web Interface

2a) The following might or might not be necessary.:
- If you get connections-errors, then in the videolan-folder (C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\http) in your computer, open the file ".hosts" in a text editor.Remove the hash sign (#) in front of the private addresses of your local network (usually "192.168.0.0/16" or "192.168.1.0/16"). You can also remove the hash sign in front of 0.0.0.0/0. Save the file.

That's it.

I don't know what your problem is. I do get problems sometimes when running a HTC Desire HD-built on a HTC HD2 but that's due to the fact that the built for HD2 is not perfect and tend to drop TCP-packages. If you are using a "genuine" Desire HD, then you shouldn't have said problems.

Wow, what an interesting project! Can anyone confirm whether it will also work with VU+ Duo Twin? The VU+ is also Enigma2 based. Should work, right?

Hi tilleke,
thank you for your AndroidDreamer, finaly something for Enigma 1 users!

I have Desire HD with Android Revolution HD 1.7+DM7020 or DM600, vlc 1.1.5 with web interface, # from .hosts removed, I can connect to 127.0.0.1 with succes, when I select some channel, getting message ---Setting up VLC---Starting Streaming---the I get choice to use "Movies", "Streaming Media player" or "VPlayer". When I choose "Movies", I get message "Sorry, this video cannot be played", when I Choose "Streaming Media player" I get "Cannot play video...Unable to connect server", and with VPlayer just flashing out the black screen. Which player are You using?
HTC DESIRE HD...ANDROID REVOLUTION HD
