Hi,

I'm not 100% sure but there are people using my other application for Windows Mobile (WMDR - see my signature) with VU+ Duo Twin and don't have any problems.

Since my code in AndroidDreamer is similar, I believe it should work. Try it and let me know.

It looks OK what you are doing. However, you did not mention which sout you selected. I am saying this since I noted on my HD2 running Desire HD that the options H264 would not work while MP4V and H263 did work.

Did you try all souts?

In this moment AndroidDreamer can't "pilot" the video-player to use but I used Streaming Media Player. I am not sure if vPlayer is such a good choice for watching a VLC-stream. VPlayer works well connecting directly to the Dreambox (without VLC and which will be supported in future version of AndroidDreamer) but it seems to have some slight problems with VLC-stream although I am not sure.

I have Desire HD with Android Revolution HD 1.7+DM7020 or DM600, vlc 1.1.5 with web interface, # from .hosts removed, I can connect to 127.0.0.1 with succes, when I select some channel, getting message ---Setting up VLC---Starting Streaming---the I get choice to use "Movies", "Streaming Media player" or "VPlayer". When I choose "Movies", I get message "Sorry, this video cannot be played", when I Choose "Streaming Media player" I get "Cannot play video...Unable to connect server", and with VPlayer just flashing out the black screen. Which player are You using?

When testing, please make sure to test all "souts" before reporting back. As I wrote in the instructions:

Quote:
select SOUT (there are 4 options - MP4V and H263 should work on most devices. H264 depends on device)

XDA is about developing and is for developers. Any user that recognises that will gain the most benefit from this site

This is and always will be a site for developers, pure and simple. Without them we are nothing, without them there would be no reason for XDA Developers to exist; we should never ever forget that. Without them this place would not be called XDA-Developers but something else, e.g Mobile Phone User Support Services For Ungrateful Nerds.

Let us check VLC on the PC. Stream a channel from your device (don't worry about the error-message. Just leave it for the time being).

in a browser on your PC, open this page:

Code:
http://127.0.0.1:8080/vlm.html
Let me know if you see any information shown on the page, in particular: Instance: playing (or pehaps stopped).

OK, that means the comunication with VLC works.

1) I already asked you, but are you using a "real" Android-device and not like me, an HTC HD2 running a Desire HD-built, which gives me often this problem due TCP-packages being lost?

2) normally "stopped" means that VLC executed all commands but was not able to open the source, in this case the Dreambox. Please verify that streaming works between PC and your Dreambox using WebIF or some other streaming program for Dreambox.

Weird:

1) Are you testing normal SD-channels as well (not only HD-channels)?
2) start streaming again, go to the VLC-page on your PC mentioned in an earlier posted by me. At the top of the page, there is a button called "Other" - click it and a new page opens up. In this page click "Export VLM commands". A new page opens up. Copy and paste the contents into a PM with the information and send it to me.
