No real info about the UI overhaul but I guess that remains to be seen, but not sure on those ugly text editing bookend things. Ugly or what!!

Frankly it looks like Froyo, with a few tweaks and a theme.

gingerbread is generally snappier -- if Froyo runs on a device, Gingerbread should run better

and:

there's no hard minimum processor requirement for Gingerbread. Trust me, if there were I'd know.
