Probably has to do with the fact that Android 2.3 seems to handle copy paste and text-selection differently. It uses those new markers that might need framework changes.

Here is a multilang version I've made.

It contains de, en, es, fr, it, sv dictionaries.
To change input languages you need to go to Settings->Language and keyboard->Android keyboard->Input Languages and check the ones you want to use. Then on the onscreen keyboard you can change Input Languages by sliding on the space bar.
