Question [Q] T-Mobile Nexus One

This is a dumb question, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer already; but I'm looking for some verification of someone who might know better than myself. I am planning on buying the Nexus S the day it comes available/pre-order... But I have a specific question.
- I am eligible for money towards an upgrade with T-Mobile; but if I get the phone attached with the upgrade is it going to be straight Google? By that I mean, will T-Mobile now be given my phone to install bloat-wear and such? For example: I bought my Nexus One from the Google Store directly, so I can do tethering with-out T-Mobile adding their fee's and knowing about it (necessarily). I want to be sure there is no attachment to T-Mobile in anyway with regards to my phone. Or, should I just pay full price so there is no attachment to my carrier. All in all I have a year left in my contract and want to ride it out and switch carriers/go pre-paid; but it will save me some cash to just get the phone with the upgrade.
Help!

as far as the bloat-wear goes, this phone is pure google. No additional software at all. Which is both a good and a bad thing since some phones include some nice extra software. t-mobiles wi-fi calling app in the G2 for example.

So the NS will be just like the N1 and be pure google.

As far as the tethering goes, google has said that creating the wi-fi hotspot will remain free even on a basic android t-mobile plan, so i would assume that tethering may be the same as well.

Great! So just to be clear then: no disadvantage to using my T-Mobile upgrade to purchase the Nexus S (other than a new 2 yr contract...) Good news, get me some money towards my Nexus S!

I think the best deal now is to buy second hand now that the GS2 has come out, there is speculation about the next nexus, and that the current nexus might not get ice cream sandwich first.
