IF YOUR DEVICE TURNS OFF FOR NO REASON, SUDDEN SHUTDOWN OF ARTEMIS OR YOUR DEVICE HAS A CONSTANT FLASHING RED LED WHEN CHARGING

check if its your usb cable.

usually it is the battery that is causing the problem.

you must buy a "brand new" battery (not a spare).

1) put the new battery in your device
*do not turn it on.
2) charge the device untill green led

if you still have the constant red flashing led when charging the brand new battery.

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK

i will not, under any circumstances, be to blame if you break your device doing this so be warned!:

3) in my experience the pins on the device mini usb were not connecting properly to the mini usb lead (to the pc usb cable).

* the best way to "quickfix" this is to open the device and bend them back into place (inwards)
be carefull because these can break easily.
(not easy to fix when broken)

* you wont need to bend the pins much.

* unplug your mini usb and check that the pc mini usb cable goes into the device, its to check the pins have not been bent too much before putting the device back together.

HKLM/Drivers/TouchPanel
"PressureThreshold" = "HEX" = "FFFFFFFF"

HKLM/Software/OEM/TFLOSettings
"FingerPressure" = "HEX" = "FFFFFFFF"

PROBLEM GUIDE BY "Szczepanik"

Those having questions on flashing (i.e. updating) their HTC Artemis could try following these steps:

1) Backup using PIM BACKUP.

2) Disable standby and hibernation then remove SIM & SDHC cards.

3) If necessary CID unlock.

4) Recommend HARD RESET or update to the latest official build.

5) If necessary update SPL to latest 1.11.cmon.

6) Flash new rom.

7) put SIM & SDHC cards into device and enjoy the result of the hard work by the ROM developer.

DEVICE LCD - DISPLAY ON YOUR PC

download mymobiler

1) turn device on and connect to pc, connect to active sync/wmdc

2) install mymobiler to your pc

3) mymobiler will now install to your device

IF DEVICE LCD IS NOT WORKING

1) turn device on and connect to pc, connect to active sync/wmdc

2) install mymobiler to your pc

3) when you have installed mymobiler to the pc, keep tapping the left softfey on device

* screen not working but mymobiler automaticly installs to the device once the install to pc is complete.
this is so you can accept the install to the device

4) when complete, it should auto connect and display your device lcd on pc, if not then run mymobiler on pc

5) if it still does not auto connect, tap the top right of your lcd, where the ok/close button would be,
its possible the device is asking for the location to install to

ICON TUTORIAL

*you can find plenty of free icons @ WWW.ICONFINDER.COM

**the way ill be showing you is with the icons inside a .dll that you can link to almost anything
eg, program shortcuts within the start menu is the most common**

download tools here

(inside tools.rar is: icofx, reshacker, blank .dll)

####################

*install and open ICOFX
*click: tools

*batch prosess

*if your doing start menu icons i use 128x128 with xp colors (max color)
add the icons you want and select the destination folder and click ok

*icons with a specific height and width are best to do these individually =
file\new or drag and drop your .PNG and select custom size
*now you have made your own custom icons.

*i have attatched a blank .dll.

*i have opened the blank .dll and added a custom icon so you can see how it works.
*it is simple enough, icons added will be labled 1,2,3 etc - then click save when done
(delete the automaticly saved .BAC file created by icofx, it is not needed)

*to link your icon to a specific program on your device, either edit your program XXXX.lnk or create a new .lnk
(rename a blank .txt file to .lnk)
*add this into the the .lnk replacing the XXXX with your program name and .dll name

#\windows\XXXX.exe ?\windows\XXXX.dll,-X

*no number before # eg, usually you would have a number of how many leters are in the link = the amount of letters is not needed
*-X is the number position of the icon inside the .dll

*if your icon is for a folder, rename the .lnk to ICON.lnk
*inside the icon.lnk should be

1#XXXX.dll, -X

*now put the ICON.lnk into the specific folder you want icon for

####################

**i will now show you how to edit/replace the icon inside either a .dll or an .exe file**
*in this example i have used the blank .dll from the first tutorial
*reshacker shows all the contents inside a .dll and also with .exe files too (not just icons)

*open/run RESHACKER
*click: file\open - select your .dll or .exe

*as you can see i have circled the icon number with red = ignore the highlighted 0 (zero)

*rightclick to get these avaliable options

*from here you will be able to replace the icon

*when finished click file\save
*it automaticly creates a XXXXX-original.dll/.exe file

*some .exe do not like their icons being changed.
