Verizon tab SMS fees

Hi guys,

I have been charged for each sms i sent/received through my Verizon tab. Are we suppose to pay for the messages? The salesman at best buy made it very clear before buying the tab that i don't have to pay for using the sms thing, and it's 100% free to use.

Verizon gangs please let me know if you're being charged for this.

Sms on the verizon is not free.
It s pay per use and there is a plan available. The only free messaging I know of is on tmobile

Unlimited SMS/MMS is included in the Sprint data plans as well.

I had to pay as well so I called and put a block on my galaxy tab so that it would not send or receive sms. I am not happy with how verizon does this.

Yes, $0.20/msg in or out; except vzw generated messages, which are free.

There is a $5 and a $10 message adder option for some number of messages. This is highway robbery, but par for the (vzw) course.

Try Google Talk. That is free.

Why not just get a google voice account and use that for texts?

or use kik, works for android, blackberry(might have issues finding the app RIM doesnt like it. PM me and i can send it to you), and ios. I just found out that program yesterday and removed my texting package that i had. i had the 500 text messages but i only text 1 person from my tab so i dropped it.

Does any one know how to block the smsm from my Galaxy Tab completely? We have called Verizon to block sms from this device, but still received a few texts last night? Anyone have any suggestions?
