Music playing with short skips in Sense build

I am using mccm sense build http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841644 and the thread is now closed.

When playing music on either stock player or on BeyondPod I have a playback issue where every 5 seconds or so the track skips a bit almost like bumping a record it makes a sharp squeek/scratch sound.

This does the same think whether I am doing stuff in background or not...did it when processor was only at 20%.

perhaps a data flow issue from SD card?

That seems to be an older build. I'm not sure when it was fixed, but sense builds had the music stutter issue for a while, but it is fixed now. I would try a new build.

Will try a newer build. Any sense build that you recommend particularly?

I actually remember when the music fix became available. It is the anniversary of my wife's granddad's death which is 26th October. Darkstone released the music fix that day. The build you mention is 27th October so I doubt the music fix would have been cooked in. If you like the build so much you could try downloading one of the latest kernels and copying it to the Android folder on your SD card. The kernel in your build is Hastarin r8.2, the latest is Hastarin r8.6 and can be found here. It may not be compatible but if you like the build then it is worth a try. If that fails then you might have to try another build. Might be an excuse to try out different types of Android to see which you like best.
