Official eclair 2.1 out again

Hi everyone, I just want to inform you guys that LG has taken off the suspension on upgrading GT540 to eclair. I just upgraded my girlfriend's phone to eclair yesterday night. The upgrade went without issues.
I upgraded it in Sweden so I guess it is the european firmware since it has a lot of european languages; I am not sure if it has all though.

Computer says no...

How did you manage to do that? I just tried to update my GF's GT540 yesterday, and it didn't get past the "Downloading" screen.

So at least the update in your beloved eastern neighbor country Finland doesn't work. (Which really sucks, since I'm giving the phone to her as a Christmas present, and was really hoping for saving me the hassle of updating it after she's got all her apps in there...)

Is the software version same for Sweden and Finland?

BTW, this might be a really stupid question, so I guess I'm the right person to ask it: Does the phone need to have the SIM-card in it in order for the update to work? i.e. Does it need to be connected to an operator?

Don't try to update! my got bricked. i start good but just when i starts to update a error window pop up whit many ?????????????????????????????? and the phone only get to boot logo..

I don't understand why that happened. I actually updated the phone without any hassle. The phone has not been rooted either.
I left the memory card and the sim card in while updating.

No update in Finland at the moment

I guess the Finnish 2.1 update had some bugs in it, so LG decided to take it down for the time being.

I guess the update will just have to wait for now.
