[Q] So about that MIUI Rom.....?

I've seen maybe one thread here or there, about porting MIUI to Vibrant.

I've been on the MIUI Devs forum, and asked, a poster gave me the obvious "need someone to port over and dedicate that time"

So for starters, I will never program (one because I'm horrible and two I'll leave it to the pros).

My question isn't "when will someone port it over? plz plz plz"

I want to understand the why it hasn't been done yet.

Is it due to the whole (again an assumption from bits and pieces I've read here n there) Samsung never officially releasing all their "source code" ( ) or the fact that an official 2.2 release isn't out for Galaxy S phones OTA?

sigh. I wish I knew.

I'm pretty jealous of the other phones with it, my only bragging right (aside from the Vibrant hardware nearly blowin most other Android phones out the water) being a nearly Gingerbread-esque experience (appearance, sounds, etc.) which they (other phones) sorta lack, all in all a little MIUI flavor would be great.

Any insight (that's gonna make things clearer, and not just GOOGLE IT) is highly appreciated.
