Make sure your phone is rooted. Copy the recovery.img file to the root of sdcard. Download terminal emulator on android ur android from market(its a free app). Open terminal emulator and run the followin command :
Code:
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
Then reboot the device if it doesn't do it automatically...
Well my device is totally blocked, can't reboot into recovery at all tried every possible thing. I'm planning to buy a new phone... Budget 10K any nice phone?
So far the best and easiest way i could find to flash recovery image is by using a software on phone itself,no Pc required in the process.
So here it is:
1.First of all download the recovery image I posted and extract it in the root of your SD card.
2.Rename the image to "recovery-backup.img".
3.Download "Recovery flasher", I have uploded it here: http://www.multiupload.com/32EO4G56NJ
4.Install and start it,then press "Restore Backup image" button.
5.Congrats,your Andro has got new Recovery.
Please say thanks if i helped you.

i have had dumped the stock rom, recovery etc. Using adb a long ago but dont know wat to do do with them. They are the img files.
And for froyo,we need to compile it from source and that too in linux.
I have tried that too,but was unsuccessful due to loads of errors and lack of support.
Compile Foryo and Stock Rom for Micromax A60 Android
Can you tell me how i can try compiling the froyo? I have ubuntu, fedora, winXP, Win7, Mac SnowLeopard wont mind trying in linux or Mac. Do i need to use SDK? Am trying that for now if i get any help... Also uploading the complete stock rom dump for micromax a60 android. May be someone else might use it... Just Hoping...
Ok first of all,it can only be compiled in linux or mac.
Even if we successfully compiled a froyo for a60,we need to flash it to the device.there are 2 methods but as i know that a60 cannot connect to adb in swithed off state,we need to apply it as update.zip and that requires a custom recovery as the stock recovery cannot apply custom update.zip.
This concludes that first of all we need to compile a custom recovery for A60.
