Default [Q] Best way to get my phone to install Apps to External memory

There's so many modifications of android, I am a little lost.

The reason I went on this forum is because I was unhappy with how my G1 was only able to install applications and games on the internal memory. It left me with little amount of applications installed and no space.

I started following a guide written in 2008 to root my G1, while doing it, I found another guide written in 2009. Then I found out about Android 2.2 and how it allows you to install applications on the external memory.

I am looking for the best way, to modify the android in order to make it install applications to the external memory.

Which way would you recommend?

Thanks.

If you want 2.2 use the Biffmod ROM but 2.2 can be slow on the G1 especially without the 14mb ram hack. Super D is a very fast and stable 1.6 ROM. Both these ROMs will automatically install your apps to the SD card as long as you partition it. This can easily be done through the recovery.

Use this rooting guide:

Is Super D better than Cyanogenmod? if so, then what are the major advantages does the Super D has over Cyanogenmod?

Thanks.

What CM are you comparing it to? If its CM4 (Andorid 1.6) then Super D seems to have a bit better performance than the lastest CM4 release.

BTW, Biffmod is based off CM6. It just has some extras such as apps2sd.
