Default Web2Go and T-Zones

Will the Dell Venue Pro work with Web2Go or T-Zones? I'm curious to see if this is an option at all with this phone.

Thanks!

Not working for me on web2go. Tried all of the known APNs with no success.

Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App

I think the problem is that tmobile locked an APN to the dell venue pro. we have to probably get access to the file system to change it.

read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885385

if anyone can successfully remove the stock APN and put in the new one, that may work...

i have a feeling tmobile is trying to hide their APN so that they can catch who ever is using Web2Go or TZones on this device.

Seems that you're sending the response via Nexus S. The question was whether Tzones or web2go is working on Venue Pro not Nexus S. I am guessing it is since Tzones works in HD7. But for Venue Pro users please confirm.

Nope. I have both Nexus S and Venue Pro in hand currently. Plan was to decide which one was best for me and test which (if any) continued to work with t-zones/web2go.

I am likely sticking with Nexus S. Love the Zune/Xbox interface but Nexus S is better fit for me.

i can confirm that web2go or tzones dont work with Dell venue Pro even with the APN set to:
internet2.voicestream.com

I can only conclude that the REAL APN is hidden and embedded in the OS so that regardless of what APN you input, you will always be using the stock APN tmobile has hidden in the OS.

Ive already tried wap.voicestream.com, internet2.voicestream.com and epc.tmobile.com and none of them worked. I also gave the phone a restart after each time I input a new APN and nothing has seem to make it work.

I am always redirected to a page that tells me I have to upgrade to another plan.
Stange thing is that my hd2 using darkstones SuperRAM can connect to internet2.voicestream.com works fine without a single problem.

I have a feeling that regardless of what ever APN we type, the phone will always use some stock APN that is hidden in the OS. I think tmobile did this so that we cant cheat their system.

Does anyone know of a programs so that we can get into the files and look more deeper into carriers info stored on the device?

Let work to get this working!

the "unlocker" has been released which allows sideloading of apps to the device. however, no such app exists that allows changing of APNs.

i do have a bit of skepticism for you though. by default, the APN t-mobile uses is epc.tmobile.com; it's the APN that is used in the "real" $30 android/blackberry/ data plan. sooooooo if epc.tmobile.com is not working and you have t-zones, then most likely, it won't work.

if you're on web2go, you wouldn't have gotten epc.tmobile.com to work anyway since web2go never ever supported epc.tmobile.com

Exactly. What I think is that buried inside the OS, tmobile has made Dell integrate the APN: epc.tmobile.com so that regardless of what ever APN you put, the OS would always refer to epc.tmobile.com.

People from the HD7 forums have gotten their devices to recognize and work with internet2.voicestream.com without a problem. So the issue must be the OS itself. It's obviously not hardware based.

I used web2go and my hd2 recognize internet2.voicestream.com without a problem. But as soon as I use epc.tmobile.com[, the hd2 tells me to switch to a new data plan.

See?
It's all in the APN, and I think that somewhere in the OS, tmobile has hidden epc.tmobile.com so that regardless of what ever APN you put, you'll always be referred to epc.tmobile.com.

Someone prove me wrong. And tell me you can get web2go or tzones to work on the DVP.

As stated earlier, epc.tmobile.com works flawlessly with tzones with other unlocked phones (Nokia, etc), so this should be a pretty easy hypothesis to disprove. Anyone with tzones able to get their DVP work?

I am on web2go which doesn't work with epc apn so I cannot help here.
