Question [Q] Layering rom info??

Hey MT4G Users

Question I appreciate all you that have givin CLEAR instructions on rooting the phone itself, I followed it step by step and it worked GREAT!! I was a little scared at first because i didnt want to turn my phone into a "brick" but all is well and i've been playing around with roms. I recently dl the Ice Glacier rom (backed up my OEM rom first) and noticed that after i flashed it, all my programs weren't on the phone itself. I did do a layer over from my OEM rom and got all the programs i had back from a previous install.

My question is this though, is there a way to keep the programs without over layering from the previous rom?? I did notice that you can move to the sd card but i think it wont work after flashing a new rom, have any of you had this problem?? Mind the fact that these programs/apps were installed on the OEM rom with the phone which i still have, just in case I have to take my phone in. And i'm not to keen on the iced glacier rom itself do any of you have a site?? Please let me know i'd be grateful!!

You dont need instructions to root your phone because its already rooted if you can flash ROMs, etc. There is a app called Titanium backup you can use to backup all of your apps, just do a batch backup or whatever. there is also a app called reware backup pro i used to use but it doesnt work as great, still good though. if you want a different rom then stock and keep your old apps that is the only way that i know of. i think thats what you are asking? i didnt really get it.. you can also back up apps wiith astro manager but that takes a while.

i use astro manager and it works great for my backups, and as far as the roms go, i wasnt able to flash anything because i needed su permissions on the phone itself. So for me to root my phone today then it worked out nicely. Thanks!

Have you tried titaniuam backup? its nice because you dont have to do everything one by one when you want to restore them, well i have well over 90 apps so that could be why lol. if you are light on them then it would be fine
