Is there a way to bypass the "emergency call" screen when no sim is present?

So I just got an X10 and I don't have a sim yet and I was wondering if there was a way to bypass the "emergency call" screen. I also have a Samsung Captivate that also runs Android and I can easily slide the emergency call screen out of the way and access the phone as normal. I can even connect to WiFi and get on marketplace with no sim. As far as I know this was not a hack of any sort. Is there any way to bypass this screen in the X10 so I can use my phone in the meantime I get my sim. Thanks

this the same prob i m facing with my At & t card .........since unlocking service is on progress.

@egyptshun are u sure this will solve the problem.

i tried SEUS,but it shows phone is up-to-date. mine phone is X10a locked with At&t android 1.6 ................

you guys, if u cant unlock the phone, its cuz ure on 1.6 of course, its a standard feature AFIAK only way to by pass this is to head to the development section and flash 2.1

is there an app I can use to upgrade to 2.1? I downloaded the Sony Ericsson update tool and everything seemed to go fine until it asked me to slide down the status bar and I couldnt do that since I am on the emergency screen. is there a better way to upgrade to 2.1? thanks
