personally after flashing clockworkmod, do a backup
i dont know if you can copy previous nand backups from other recovery to clockworkmod backup folder some thing like that

as i see from that link you posted about other recovery people who tried only have problems whit it, so at this moment i stay on amonRA recovery

I'm not sure either, but as you say, moving the backups to clockworkmod folder might work.

Never had any issues with latest clockworkmod personally. Older versions had some issues with MTD utils, but should be fixed in last version. Besides, it's the default recovery used by CyanogenMod team.
