Thank YOU! My phone died, and I got a new EVO with the new 3.7 and new HBOOT 2.10. It worked GREAT, only way I could figure out to get it unlocked to load Fresh 3.5.0.1 back on it.

Thank you, it worked awesome!

The link still works but you have to change the rc2 to rc3 to get the newer version.

Big thank you to the unrEVOked team! received my evo with 3.70 pre-installed and could not do anything for root as I am an android newbie and the savior method had too many steps that I would probably mess up. Ran the beta for windows and under the hood shows s-off and device rooted. super-user permissions is also now selectable. Keep up the excellent work guys!

Ok, I was in the IRC last night and helped quite a few ppl... the main thing I remeber when using the BETA...

1. make sure all traces of HTC Sync is uninstalled. (Drivers and Installer)
Go to Control panel>Add/Remove Programs

2. I did a reboot after I uninstalled, then I ran CrapCleaner

3. Install the HBOOT Drivers found on this page ~~> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787304

I helped alot of ppl get rooted using these steps last night...

...Now my problem is...

I get all the way to the 2nd Reboot (after it uninstalls unrevoked3 services) then it says:

"Validation Eroor: Back Up CID is Missing"

Any one have any Idea how I should go about fixing this??

Also - I do have S-OFF in my hBoot, but I DO NOT have the Super User Icon...

Is there a OSX version available? And any word when this will be out of beta?

Just checked out the unrEVOked twitter feed. Looks like they're pretty close to releasing a full, non-beta version.

There's no OSX version available as of yet but I'm sure it will be included with the official update.

As for the official release date, it's bound to be any day now. They had a lot of success with the Beta and according to the Unrevoked Twitter the official release is very close. I'm assuming that things will be delayed with the holiday but I assume it should be here some time early next week.

I used this beta version on two brand new white EVOs running 3.70, boot 2.10, HW 004; the first one was rooted on the first try with no problems at all, I had to try twice for the second one but it rooted it with no problems either.

However I'm having problems with CW 3.0, whenever I try to install a .zip file it keeps telling me "installation aborted". I tried playing around with the settings for a little bit but no luck yet. Have any of you guys had any problems with CW? In the mean time I'm gonna try to install a different recovery. I'll report back.
