I'm a evo owner but just got a optimus. Is there a way to root 2.2?

We only have the one 2.2 rom, the Quarx + Ankuch Openswift. This rom is already rooted.

The phone came with 2.2 on it and its not rooted I wanted to root for hotspot

You don't have an optimus you have an optimus one with the model number p500
We have the gt540. Google "root LG p500 "
And you should find what your looking for
Ours came with 1.6 then a 2.1 update and 2.2 is a custom non official rom for us
