[Q] X8 image backup

Hi folks.

I'm really new to android phones, and i've been reading some stuff around here because i own a beautiful HTC ELF the one and i'm happy with it, but the android gave more ideas to work with.

My X8 has SE 2.1 update and is factory software made. It's a Portuguese Vodafone version with all the Vodafone crap inside.
I read that already i can root it but if it was 1.6 now that is 2.1 is ore dificult.

My question is: How can i make a full image backup to the system that is installed right now in case i try to root it starting at 1.6 and go up to 2.3 ? Is it possible?????

First, putting on 2.1 pre-rooted is now quite easy thanks to install.sh script.
Second, AFAIK you need root to make full backup of phone (either via xRecovery or within Android itself with Titan, etc.)
But if you'll ever need Vodafine stuff back, you can visit Omnius, register for free and go to downloads area, and download file with same SI (CDA) number as under the battery cover, unzip file and flash sin files with Bin4ry's flasher.
