I think you should add pros and cons of android 2.2 and 2.2.1 because a noob like me doesn't know what is the "best" (depending on what I want to do) Android version.

Recent convert from the mt3g. I have spent the last 18 mos lurking first here at XDA and then at CM's site modding that thing ad infinitum. After having that gen1 android device, this thing is sweet! Just rooted, so thanks for that. Now time for recovery and an OCable kernel!! Thanks in advance for answering my naive and easily searchable queries!

Some one please tell me a simpler way to install the recovery it seems confusing eg. "To flash: via adb shell or terminal type this from root su # shell. (Do not type the # as its just for reference to show you need a root # shell not a $ user shell)"
