customization of gingerbread

since mdj released gingerbread 1.8a,we have a nearly perfect gb nand rom (at least for me). tastes are different, that's why i started a thread here by asking for modding possibilities of gingerbread.

• has anyone tried to replace framework-res.apk to get a percenage battery icon?
• is it possible to change the yellow progress bars and all other yellow coloured elementsr?
• for me most important: can we make the background of contact app semitransparent like on jdms nand rom?

please do not forward me to tutorials of replacing framwork on (sd) desire builds. i guess it is not as easy as it was on sd builds
