Great thread! The SGS already has a port of GB. So this is no different than what we already have. The port is actively being worked on and for the most part was pretty usable minus reboots and delay with data for me.
Sent from my amazingly fast and long lasting Razr Maxx.

That kinda sucks but Gingerbread on iPhone is so damn sluggish. I wouldn't even want Android on an iPhone after looking at that though.

They got a ghetto laggy port of gingerbread, not a fully functional one. So they didn't beat us. Actually, ours is way more usable than that... We had a ghetto laggy port of GB only a couple of days after GB launched! I don't think beat us in any aspects.

And if you read the article and followed the link, you would see that it is barely functional. As others mentioned we had a similar poor running GB on Captivate a long time ago. So iPhone didn't beat us, and our version of GB is much farther along.
Samsung Captivate - rooted
iPhone - jailbroken

I find it funny now people post threads about ios being so much better than android, yet the Iphone devs are wanting to port GB to their phone. Just goes to show you that it always looks greener on the other side of the fence, till you go over there.
