Exclamation Warning? Microsoft UK support no longer issuing *live* codes.

Just a heads up; called MS UK support (18:00GMT) just now and they are not giving out any more live codes for WP7 users - instead you need to call HTC ...

Apparently they are updating the MS KB article to that affect.

It would appear that HTC want the IMEI number before going any further.

Not 100% sure if anyone else is getting this now?

Yes, there are many reports of this.
I assume however that HTC are probably just checking if the IMEI is a HD7? I doubt they are checking off every IMEI, as you could just claim you've changed your live ID, bought it from eBay? Also the codes only seem to be brand specific?
So get an IMEI and call HTC to get your code?

I called the uk number (think it was home user>tech support) around 4.30pm today...got a code no problem. Might of just been lucky as the person I spoke too was alright...only asked if I had an htc (name/number/live id).

WP7 is pretty slick I have to say...really is up there with the iphone in terms of speed and looks. BUT i cant download from the marketplace...keeps saying try later. Now I get low disk space and random reboots. Any ideaS?

Might means that your micro SD is not compatible...

Try with Micro SD class 2. Try 8 Gb for start.

Once you entered your Live ID wait for the end of syncronisation and reboot!

Juste open Marketplace with WIFI

Should be perfect Running WP7 with 16Gb Micro SD card. Perfect just experiencing some freeze.

Take your time the result is great.

Keep the code

Just tried the UK number a bit ago and it seems you can only do it during office hours, so I couldn't even ask.

Tried the US number and after loads of mucking around I got told they couldn't help as they can only deal with US customers. Bah.

But, at the moment whilst I love the clean fresh look of WP7 it looks like it could get frustrating pretty quick since there's hardly any settings that look accessible. Probably just because I'm new to it and don't know how to use it to be fair.

Not sure now whether to wait til tomorrow and try to activate it, or to just stick nandroid back on. Both would be nice but we won't go there.....

Are you in the US though mate?

Wish I could get one for mine but I've tried US and UK numbers now and failed. I've been playing a bit more with 7 and I really like it.

If anyone was able to get a code for me I'd be hella grateful. What info do you have to give to MS though about your live account??

DONATE TO ME
Guys, just a hint, if you call the US support, which you can do via Skype for free anywhere in the world, at least don't tell them you are from the UK or elsewhere...Obviously they are US support to help people from the US, therefore, you guys need to be a little bit creative in what you tell them...
T-Mobile MDA Vario III (Kaiser) -> HTC HD2 (Leo) -> HTC Sensation (Pyramid) -> Samsung Galaxy S3 (i9300) -> HTC One (M7)
