I have extracted the system.rfs of the new GT-I9003 firmware I9003XXJL9 which I think might be helpful for moders and developers.

Edit: This is a froyo 2.2.1, not a 2.3 as thought.

ok, but... What are the advantages of this system.rfs ?

It's the same as factoryfs.rfs on the I9000 firmwares, everything except the kernel and the modem firmware. The XXJL9 is Gingerbread firmware.

Meaning with this,
We get one Big step for unofficial gingerbread Rom, and a giant leap for GalaxyS kind.

No, it means we can try to use whatever apps that they have on our sgs.

Correct, when the applications etc. has been de-odexeded then they can be freely put in any costume ROM that can be flashed to an I9000 and will look/behave exactly as a Nexus S/I9003.

eh, clearly 2.2.1 after downloading. system.prop says 2.2.1 and froyo all over the place and build.prop says sdk version 8 (which is froyo)... boo misleading and disappointment

You are correct, I did not check the build.prop file, my mistake. This is why I thought that it was a 2.3 version: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&i...msung_gt-i9003

I would like to ask the mods to delete this thread.

So it doesnt comes with 2.3?
