[Q] When SIM is inserted, Streak crashes and reboots

Hi,

I received my Streak today and I think the former user installed official 2.2 manually. The problem is: everytime I start the streak with my SIMcard inserted, it boots up, I enter my pin code an then the buttons begin to flash, it doesnt react anymore and simply reboots. When I dont insert my SIMcard it works flawless. I already used QDLtool and I also flashed Steve's 1.60, which didnt solve my problem. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

I also did several factory resets and flashed different recoverys...

So I replaced my SIM card and the Problem seems to be gone. May this be provider dependent or is my SIM card damaged? I'll update this thread when a new one arrives...

Btw my provider is BASE (Germany)

same problem here.

got a brand new dell streak UK version ( not branded ) with android 1.6. insert my simcard ( Fyve - Vodafone ) and it works with no problems. data connections, in and outgoing calls works great. now got the official froyo 2.2 update from dellsite and i have exactly the same problem like you. i used other simcards from my friends ( telekom, base, o2, old vodafone card, blue mobile, etc.) and all cards works with no problems btw, my fyve card is the newest version, got it in january. tried my fyve card in other phones like desire hd, lg optimus one, htc trophy, iphone etc. works great is it a baseband problem? have anyone a old basebandversion from official 1.6 version? need help plz

The new SIM I requested from my provider solved the problem. I have no Idea why my Streak crashed with the old one, as said before I could use it in several other phones without any problem.

Wenn du bei Fyve anrufst und anmeldest, dass deine SIM kaputt ist, bekommst du ja vermutlich wie bei Base kostenlos eine Ersatzkarte. Würd ich auf jeden Fall probieren! Seit ich die neue SIM habe funktioniert alles tadellos.

to those who are still having this problem: not sure if this will be effective, but you might want to try flashing one of DJ Steve's roms on your phone nd seeing if it is not just a problem with the OS itself.

@maqs : neue karte kostet 14,95.

@pat : i tried all versions from dj steve and the problem is still there.

I will order a new card and hope this will work.
