[ROM] Adlxmod "Froyo for Defy" v1.0 (Chinese base)

This is Adlxmod Froyo for Defy

- Based off Chinese Froyo Motorola release,
(moto/ME525_umts/umts_jordan/ME525:2.2.1/JDGC_0.26.0/1291957876:user/release-keys)
- Fully Deodexed by me -> Theme ready
- Optionally a dark notification bar patch can be installed, see below.
- Rooted
- Phone can be used with no SIM
- Includes Motoblur, which can be skipped
- Removed Chinese Bloatware

This rom targets people who want to upgrade to 2.2, but still like Motoblur. Performance isn't as good as deblurred rom, but you can OC/UV it to make it perform better (what I do).

Instructions:

Rom's Nandroid: adlxmod-Defy-Froyo-build05.zip
DarkBar Patch : adlxmod-Defy-Froyo-DarkBarOnly.1-signed.zip

- This Rom is a Nandroid backup of system to be restored over the phone.

- The zip contains:

ZIP:\goapkrev\
\backup\
\date & time\
system.img
nandroid.md5

It has to be unzipped in the root of the SDcard in the exact same structure:

SDCRAD:\goapkrev\
\backup\
\date & time\
system.img
nandroid.md5


If u are not using a Froyo rom yet, start with those steps:

- Flash Chinese Froyo sbf using RSD Lite
- Root using SuperOneClickFor2.1
- Reboot
- Install Tenfar Recovery application
- Run Tenfar Recovery
- Install Recovery

( If you are using already a Froyo rom for Defy, you can jump directly to these steps )

- DISABLE USB Debugging Mode (In Settings / Applications / Developpement)
- Reboot into Recovery
- Restore nandroid
- (Optional) Flash the DarkBar patch
- Wipe All!
- Reboot

Known Issues:

- Gallery 3D will FC if click on the camera button, will fix later
- Swype close word window doesn't show up upon double tap (?!)
- Only English & Chinese locales for the moment
- No PTBR locale in swype. Working on it.
- Camera Flash is sort of working for me, it fires correctly but seems a bit out of sync. Hope you have more luck with that.

Here's the problem, I like this ROM, but I hate BLUR, however this rom doesn't have too much blur, and sadly, the reason I can't use this ROM is because EDGE is the only connectivity I get. Also, I'm using another ROM atm and everytime I upgrade to maps 5.0 navigation stops working and maps lags alot. Is that the case here?

EDIT: Also, I like the keyboards and I want skype back, but I can't extract them because it's an .img file and I don't have anything that can view it...therefore i was wondering, coiuld you please upload the swype and HTC IME? I'm on the original USA DEFY and miss swype and I like HTC IME. =[

You can install swype by their official page "http://beta.swype.com/" just register and follow the steps, i had to uninstall and remove some files on the one the comes with Defy but after it i was able to do install it.
I did all of this because i wanted swype in Portuguese, that is not available in the ROM's

That is good and all, but I want the version of Swpe that came with my T-Mobile DEFY, well it's actually my friend's DEFY, he got it yesterday I"m rooting and helping, but anyways he wants the version that came with the phone originally the white skin and all. I know that's possible because this ROM has it, but I"m running a different 2.2 ROM at the moment, and I don't know how to extract the keyboard form this ROM.

There are instructions on restoring 3g for US on this forum.

Try to install this .apk, is from moto.

I saw that, but are there any not involving ADB because I keep getting an error when trying to use ADB with the DEFY -

I get this error:

You need to uninstall/reinstall ADB or re-read the installation instructions. You have a problem with your environmental variables.

Also that 3G fix only works with Android 2.1 (eclair). You will need to make or get a 3G fix for Android 2.2 (froyo). I'm not sure how that would happen, since you would need some files off of a 2.2 rom that is compatible with US networks, and the only current 2.2 rom is the chinese version. Which is why I haven't tried any of the 2.2 roms yet. I'm just going to wait until something more stable is available.

Hi Adlxdum, I restored your back and your rom is really fast and pretty neatly modded, thank you very much for that. However, immediately after booting, google is restoring all the apps and settings which I had on my previous rom. Including the apps. Hence not much customization seems to be left at the end of this. Is there a file that is somewhere here on either my sd card or inside my phone which I can delete. That way I can enjoy the complete benefits of your rom.

EDIT: Sorry there is an option on froyo for that. I unchecked the "restore backup" option under privacy.
