Arrow Windows Phone 7 Rom Development for Omnia 7, update on 2.1.2011, by ansar.

Hi,

Update:

1.2.2011: All items of the branded ROMs have been identified.

............. Some unbranded like ROMs without any change in SPL and OS will be produced for testing:

............. 1. The booting capability of the custom ROMs and

............. 2. The device behavior if booting is successfully completed

............. When these will be ready you will be notified.

End of update

As promissed in HTC device forums an attemp to analyze the Omnia 7 ROM has been started.

In the following posts will be reported the findings of the Omnia 7 XENJK1/BSEJK1/XXJJ4/DTMJJ6 downloaded ROMs.

Regards, ansar.

Hi,

The XIP structure has been identified and consists of a 6 xip elements.

It is a common windows phone 7 multi xip structure that can be accessed by the advanced wp7 bootloader.

The 1st is the new kernel nk.exe

The 2nd and 3rd are small unkown that refer to Storage Manager too.

The 4rth is the main uldr boot and the 5th a spare of this one.

The 6th is the service xip to the 4th/5th.

These are the structures of the 2 main XIPs [#4/#5] and [#6]:
