Default [Q] Streak on Bell

Hello Everyone,

I have seen that an unlocked Streak should work on Bell in Canada. My current phone is an HTC Touch (CDMA) and I have acquired a Bell SIM card for my Streak. After inserting it into the phone (Twice - once in store and once at home through online site) it finds Bell under Networks, but fails to connect stating the following:

Unable to connect to the network at this time. Please try again later.

Here are the details of the Unlocked UMTS Streak I have originally from Dell.com:

1 225-0059 Streak UMTS Base
1 318-0145 Carbon,Streak
1 317-1902 16GB SD Memory Card
1 331-0805 Black Barcode label,16GB,UMTS,No SIM, Online,Unlocked,Streak
1 331-0789 Dell Streak Documentation & Manual, Unlocked
1 926-0563 Advanced Exchange Limited Warranty Initial Year
...

Please let me know what I need to change/do to get this activated. I really want to have this up and running and eventually add a HSPA/3G data plan.
Is it any settings that need to change or do I have the wrong hardware? Let me know if further information/clarification is required.

Additionally, from my understanding, the first SIM that was activated in-store(and correspondingly deactivated) was wasted since I had to switch back to my HTC Touch to have a working phone. Is this a valid assumption?

Thanks and I really hope someone can save me. I did not purchase this solely for usage as a tablet. Lastly, in store when the representative tried my serial/IMEI it stated that the phone should in fact work.

Thanks,
Jazz

It should work but maybe try this:
In the dialer type *#*#307#*#* to Enable engineering apps in launcher

Then go to EMList in you app list. In EMList choose network settings, try and see if all of your networks are enabled. See if that works, then maybe check your APN settings as well as make sure the phone is set to WCDMA only. Rogers and Bell share a lot of the same frequencies. Obviously the unlock on your phone is good because it wouldn't let you use a SIM otherwise.

The MyTouch didn't have a CDMA version, just a WCDMA version I think so the frequencies should be fine. Maybe try doing a factory reset might help too.

Hello,

Thanks for rapid response

I tried the dialer thing provided and it says ensure correct Passport is on the SD card. Not sure how to proceed there?

EMlist does not come up, however, SIM Toolkit looks new?

APN settings are blank and I set the Streak to WCDMA only.

I was not sure what you meant by MyTouch. My previous model was an HTC Touch.

I think if there are no more options, I may factory reset?

Please let me know and thanks for your help!

Hello

After performing a simple reset (on/off) the device works and is now stating that it is on the Bell network. Thanks again for all of your help! I am very excited about this.
