You can edit non-sense rom to look like sense.Launcherpro can edit dock and also there is launcherpro clock widget which is the same as htc clock.

If you get a chance to do so, try it and let me know if it solves the problem...
I installed from scratch and I can confirm that I am experiencing this issue as well.

I did the following from V2.3.5:

1) Wipe the cache
2) Wipe the Dalvick Cache
3) Re-installed V2.3.5

and I can confirm that I still do have the problem.

Other than this, everything is running smoothly (using old Maket)

After some testing, I have noticed that Gtalk works fine on a clean install of Elelinux Light version - while having almost no other new apps installed from market nor any widgets running.

I have about 98MB Ram free and the Running Service (Cached Process) called Talk does not get killed.

Once the Ram goes down to say around 40MB free, Talk continuously gets killed off while other apps remain to run alright, like Whatsapp, skype, etc.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Would very much like Talk not to get killed so easily.

Edit Post Update: After turning on the browser, BAM!- it immediately kills of Talk in the cached process as well as various other processes that were running. Even tho there was still plenty of ram to be used. I noticed that the browser was taking up 22MB of ram.

My phone and battery are 2 years old and I can see that the battery performance is not what it used to be when I bought the phone.

You will never get allot of hours, days, weeks or whatever on any Rom you could think of with normal to heavy usage if :
1. Your battery is very old (2 years) because they weren't build to last forever and their lifetime is reduced drastically if you are charging your phone every single day.
2. The apps you are using consume allot of memory and/or they use gps, wifi or network data.

The battery has a Talk time of up to 8 h on 2G if it's new.
Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000

Rom: CyanogenMod 10 -> 27/10/2012 Nightly
Kernel: Stock

If my post helped you, please consider hitting the Thanks button on the left. Try it, it doesn't hurt !

Need more space to backup your files? Do it in the "cloud"! Use Dropbox and get 2GB for FREE... click the blue box above to register and we both get 250MB of additional free space.

Ya. Mine is 2 yrs old as well. I'm still considering whether I should get a new battery ...

Smart phones no matter what model, as long as you are running full time on data plan, you need to charge it everyday. Our battery technology is still far behind. Hah

The unresponsive check-box saga continues. Given that it's several of us, and neither installing from scratch nor an update install cures this issue, I think we have ourselves a genuine bug, which lies either in 2.3.5 itself or this ROM in particular. Let's hope someone manages to fix it!

A fair few pages back I was complaining about poor battery life (~10 hours) and Elelinux suggested it would be the battery. I purchased a genuine replacement for around £10 and it's vastly improved. I would recommend it if you can get one cheap.
