Default Why all of the blind hatred?

The Motorola Atrix is a phone. There are accessories for it. I understand the price of the mobile dock is unreasonably high, but stop looking at it from the standpoint that it's worthless without it's unique dock. Was the Nexus One worthless without this dock? Was the G1 worthless without the dock? Of course not, it didn't exist. Take the dock out of the equation and the Atrix is still going to be one of the best phones out there. Dual core with a gig of ram, it's a monster compared to what's out right now.

You can speculate whether or not the bootloader will be locked. Maybe it will be, maybe it won't be. Motorola said publicly that they would like to enable developers to do what they want. Should we take them on their word? No, not yet. But until it's out, stop trashing the image of what could be a great device based on assumptions.

These forums should be a tool used to make the android world a better place. Complaining about a device not yet released helps no one.

The dock was what took it from nice powerful phone to amazing. Without that... there will be plenty of great dual-core phones this year, no need to deal with AT&T.

Goodbye AT&T.

I have to use AT&T and I'm tired of my iPhone 3G. SO I'll probably be getting this.. It's an awesome phone with killer specs that could probably hold it's own for a year and half.

DONATE TO ME
I agree. Still the most powerful, best specced phone out there.

Sadly the dock is too expensive, but you still get Gorilla Glass, a qHD display and a 1900 mAh battery! No other phone can compete with this specs at the moment. So I'm still eagerly awaiting the Atrix.

Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Galaxy Nexus - MoDaCo with UV Kernel
HTC Desire - ICS

I think what's bothering people is that this phone is going to be needlessly hampered down by AT&T by way of locked bootloader, no sideloading, & motoblur causing update delays. All of this crap bundled into the phone was somewhat alleviated, though, because it allowed use for all of these awesome accessories. Now that for all intents and purposes these accessories are off the table for most, everyone is left with a hindered Atrix, while competitors have similarly spec'd devices without the bloat.

Bootloader is locked; it's policy for Moto devices now. Droid was an exception. The strange thing is that the pressure to lock isn't coming from carriers.

Still, it will be interesting to see if Moto will follow through with increased interaction with the development community. A vague promise was made after their Twitter faux pas a couple of weeks back.
