What exactly does the Verizon Market Fix do? I don't use Verizon, so I'm curious about whether or not I should skip that part if its a problem specific to Verizon, or a fix that needs to be applied regardless of carrier.

The link you posted is the same package as on the op, the tiny. They're both 4.5mb ... both are the tiny

when you run the market, the right most icon near the top should be verizon. that's where you go to get all your verizon apps. you will not have that icon there unless you do the fix. I will be releasing another update that will have the fix included. No, not today

This fix makes the Verizon app shortcut show right up on the main screen when you open up the market. Instead, if you don't do it, it shows "My Apps"

Also, when should I calibrate my battery? I'm at 52% battery now. Should I wait until I have to charge it tonight to erase my battery stats? Or should I just do it now?

I haven't done it in a while, but I think it's best to do it when you're at 100% and plugged in. There's a whole thread on this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780724

How do I move build.prop into the /systems/ folder? I downloaded it onto my pc, then transfered it to the SD card on my phone, then I tried using "File Manager" to MOVE the file from the SD card to the /systems/ folder and it tells me that it can't do that. I also tried to copy instead of move, neither works. Do I need a folder manager with SU permissions to do this?

it's .zip'd... make sure you unzip it to get the build.prop first then move.

and yes, you need a file explorer that gains root... sorry, I had to re-read

That's what I though since File Manager was also showing my root folder as empty!

Can you recommend an app that's free?

Great job! I'm happy to see that there are still people actively working on rom's for the Eris.

I have one question though, can someone point me in the direction of some themes for the gingerbread theme picker? That is if they exist. I can't find any myself, and if I did I'm not sure how to implement them into the gb theme picker.

Sure, EStrongs file manager is free, and can gain root. But you will need to go into the app's settings after you run it and set it to gain root.

Search the Market for CM7 themes, there are only a few so far. Some are free, some are paid.
