Have heard great things about this kernel, and want to try it on MIUI. Is there anything special I need to do before I flash it? Thanks!

Not sure if you've mentioned about wipes, are they required coming from a different kernel?

sorry, I missed that one you would flash the cm7/any kernel. however, because you've already flashed the stock kernel you would either need to reflash the rom or net's to get the appropriate ramdisk back in.
the cm7/any kernel does not replace it, but merges the kernel with the ramdisk you already have

since very few people need these features, I don't include them. I suggest you try morfics or netarchy's kernel. they both are very good
