Default Andromeda 1.1 Home Key Issue

Because of my new user status, I was not authorized to post this into what I think was the appropriate thread (the Andromeda 1.1/2.1 development thread), so hopefully this finds its way into the right hands.

I did the Andromeda 1.0 to 1.1 update on my Captivate. Wiped the dalvik cache first and had no issues. The only issue I am having seems to be related to touchwiz. When I am on the home screen, if I press the home key, I get an error tone, and the following error pops up:

"The application com.sec.android.app.twlauncher (process com.sec.android.app.twlauncher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

Then I have to select "Force Close." It then opens up whatever app I was previously using. This happens quite a bit, either because I inadvertently hit the home button while on the home screen, or I'm in an app and press the home key twice, either by accident or due to impatience.

I wanted to check and see if anyone else was having this problem or if anyone knows of a solution.

Andromeda is hands down the best ROM, by the way. Very slick.

Thanks.

looks like a bad flash. you can flash to stock, do a master clear and try to flash v1.1 directly.

Indeed, it was not reported before. I would wait until tonight and flash the back_to_unthemed zip that I am finishing now (it doesnt matter whether you are in 2.1 or 1.1, you can flash it and it will replace several of the most important files in the rom)

If that does not work, then I would use the wipe version and start from scratch.
new-instance v3, Ljava/lang/String;
const-string v4, "aleadam"
invoke-direct {v3, v4}, Ljava/lang/String;-><init>(Ljava/lang/String; )V
.local v3, sig:Ljava/lang/String;
new-instance v2, Lcom/aleadam/Post;
invoke-direct {v2}, Lcom/aleadam/Post;-><init>()V
.local v2, post:Lcom/aleadam/Post;
invoke-virtual {v2, v3}, Lcom/aleadam/Post;->addSignature(Ljava/lang/String; )Z

I went ahead and flashed the zip that you posted. Unfortunately, I was still having the same issues.

As suggested, I flashed back to stock then did a clean 1.1 install. Everything seems to be working great.

Thanks for the help.

I had the same issue. I was going to live with it, but ultimately decided to do a clean install as well.

There was definitely something strange about my 1.0 to 1.1 update. In addition to the home key issues, I was having some battery life issues (even after wiping the battery stats) along with some other general weirdness.

I thought about being lazy and just living with the issues, but it's been a few days now since I did the clean install and it was definitely worth the small amount of time and hassle required to flash it.
