Default Developing

Hello,

I am looking at setting myself in android development. I am a web programmer, but I have been wanting to branch out to different languages. I was looking around and I see Android's programs are developed in Core, C++, and Java. Is this correct?

I am wanting to pitch in on the development side, but I want to get some overviews of the languages I will need before diving in.

I am basically just wanting to make sure I am headed in the right direction.
