I have not tried that yet. Will do.

I did try this before and although it helps somewhat, it also decreases the already poor battery life.

But that still leaves the incredible annoying data drops. Perhaps I will revisit Hyperdroid and see if I can find out what is causing the slow down after I have installed all apps. Without the slow down it would be an almost perfect ROM.

Not sure if that's what you are looking for, but there's a combo of settings (sth called "tablet tweaks" or similar in CM settings) which let's you:
1. bring status bar to the bottom of the screen
2. put icons for the chosen soft buttons there (menu, back, home, find)

Thanks for the interesting but not what I need.
I need the bar at the top and was just looking something like this:

but the launcher is not like the photo, there is no bottom bar.

That's an ics (Android 4.X) launcher. I'm no expert, but I don't think you'll get soft buttons with a gingerbread build. The HD2 buttons don't (always) have to wear-out. Don't use undue force actuating them.

have you tried the "buttonsavior" ? download it free from the market.
it gives you the option to place soft keys anywhere you want. top, bottom, left or right. and quite good actually.

yes... this is the best for HD2.

i will try it, looks quite interesting.
Thank you.
hi
as i remember buttonsavior has the option to have soft keys top or bottom as well, but it will be over the other apps as you mentioned. but you can have it in the invisible mode where keys become visible only when you touch the small arrow button.
ICS roms are not still stable or as fast as GB. but the newer builds come pretty close. if you are interested in trying i m sure RobE could tell you exactly where to look.

And I, I had the same opinion until I saw some pictures with the 2.3 had the soft keys. Perhaps an earlier version of "ICS Launcher" to support it. If you give in google "ICS Launcher" will see those photos. Ι installed "ICS Launcher" from market, all ok but the soft keys do not exist..

It's a bit early to deal with the 4, ι do not have the time these days.
Unfortunately, button savior, not support except left or right side
