Default Overclocking

What is the optimal processor speed for overclocking to maintain the best performance? Also, where do you start having problems?

Thanks, you guys are awesome!
Steve

It depends on the device it may differ significantly from D2 to D2 some people are stable @1.35GHz some only @1.2GHz it's trial and error to find what's best for your phone. But most D2's don't really need to be Overclocked.
Before posting try and do a search in the forum or use Google with "XDA developers:"(without quotes) in front of what you want to find.
(Keeps # of double posts down and helps you find what you are looking for faster!) Thanks!

Thanks for the information. I am trying it at 1.0 through Droid Overclock and finding that Quadrant is rating it at 1.25. I wonder if it's stated as a 1Ghz processor, but set to run slower than it could.

Also, are there any major differences between Liberty and Cyanogen that I may need to know before deciding on a ROM?

I don't think there is a CM ROM for the D2. I don't think the CM team wants to work on the D2 because of the locked bootloader, but I could be wrong on that. Liberty is definitely a stable and awesome ROM, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I have used Fission, and could only overclock to 1.1GHz stable. With Liberty, I can overclock to 1.35GHz stable (both using Droid Overclock app on ultra low voltage).

I always say, just try out different ROM's and see which one works best for you.

I agree with most of what you said, but just as a side note cvpcs is working on CM for the Droid X and has gotten it to boot as of this weekend. So we can probably hope to see it at some point in the future!
Devices:
Google Nexus 7 | CM10
HTC Incredible 2 | CM9

Motorola Droid 2 | CM9
HP Touchpad | CM9

Agreed, a CM ROM would be awesome to see for the D2. However I am quite please with Liberty and Fission/Fusion, so its not like we're doing without.

I'd just like to go on record and say that I have run CM6 on my old Eris and loved it. That being said, since moving to a Liberated D2, I don't know that CM has much of an edge on Liberty. I'm as pleased as can be. Running stable 1.3 with fantastic battery life, BTW. Just my 2 cents.
