I have one or two different video cables at home i'll try this with tonight. One is from the zune, another from a camera i think. Can't wait for you to get this working, great job so far.

I haven't tested with this yet but the red cable is the one that works for video on my vibrant.

Check kernel options tv20 driver is required for this to work right? It fails to detect chip and load on eclair but using my froyo i9000 source it shows tv20 loads and detects cable I do not think default fascinate config has the driver configured right. I have not tried your hack yet but I am sure this tv20 driver maybe needed.

Btw tv20 is hdmi related if I recall right.

Although I tried all color combinations, the cable I'm using works with the other SGS phones using red for video.

I get audio but no video, Rockplayer and every other video program I try FC's right away. So it appears that something's happening at least.

With the built-in video player, I get right and left audio on red and white and no video at all on yellow.

I have word that we always had audio out, however this is good news, means I didnt break audioout.

If I remember right, the kernel in the OP is a custom job done by jt where he added the driver into his froyo voodoo modded kernel. The driver was missing for leaked froyo, so it would make sense that it's not there in eclair.

EDIT: Hmmm, looking through the OP, he didn't mention the kernel driver. Maybe he forgot? (my memory is probably failing me)

EDIT EDIT: Whoops, nope tv20 never made it in there. Just added the TVout service to the init.rc
