I don't understand. I thought the kernel for the Desire can't be used with the Inspire.

The OP is using a Custom kernel.

Does it really matter if it says 4G or HD? Granted id rather mine say 4G but its no big deal...Unless it makes a difference in the actual ROM

I'm using custom kernel which works for both HD and 4G

Just use 5G for both roms problem solved
