Why not? The HD2 can dual boot android and WP7, and the google cr48 is hackable to boot windows and ubuntu.

Windows just announced recently their vague plans to get Windows running on ARM processors (what runs in the Xoom and most mobile devices) with no real roadmap or idea of when this will happen (it was really just a statement that they're working on it). By the time that there is a tablet and capacitive touch optimized ARM-running version of Windows ready and shipping, I think the Xoom will be very old news. And that's only the start of trying to get this thing to dual boot this fictional OS, there's the whole deal of actually getting the Xoom to load another OS first (it just came out today!) :P

I don't think it will be too terribly long before someone dual boots another OS on the Xoom (there are Ubuntu ports running on some phones), but I don't think it will be windows for a long long time.

Maybe you should pickup a laptop for your schoolwork lol.

Ok, but how about some ARM distro of Linux? Maemo or something?

Seeing as android already is a distro of Linux, I would have to say yes. Some have gotten Ubuntu to work (barely) as a chroot.

I saw one guy running it and accessing through VNC, but that's unusable. So if it's running...how would one access it "normally" ? A different bootloader or configuration on the bootloader? Would it be "switchable" after boot? I'm familiar with Linux systems, but I'm just not familiar with how these devices boot and how their bootloaders work. Grub is really the only bootloader I know anything about =)
