[Q] Titanium Backup

I'm getting ready to upgrade my wife's A7 to 1.3.
Has anyone been able to use Titanium Backup to backup and restore apps when upgrading to the new Dexter ROM?
TB doesn't seem to see the external sd card.
Here is what I'm wondering: Could you run TB, copy contents of the TB folder to external sd card, wipe tablet and install ROM, install TB, copy contents of folder back to internal card, and restore?

What version do you have? I have TB 3.7.2 free.
Go to "Preferences" / "Backup folder name" and type something like that
/storage/sdcard-disk0/TitaniumBackup

External sdcard mounts to /storage/sdcard-disk0
