Android 2.2.1 (Froyo) ROM for Huawei 8120 aka Vodafone 845
Based on Tas0s's CM6 Port

  • Android 2.2.1
  • Kernel 2.6.29 (Kalt Kaffe)
  • CyanogenMod 6.2
  • De-odexed
  • Busybox
  • Bash
  • Zipaligned
  • Rooted
  • 633MHz OC kernel
  • JIT Enabled
  • Fixed Google account sync/login problem
  • HVGA Market v2.34
  • Go Launcher EX (the faster Launcher with a lot of extras)
  • Default mms.apk replaced with Go SMS
  • Default browser.apk replaced with Skyfire (you can remove)
  • Documents To Go v3.0002
  • Java ME Apps support
  • Only Root Explorer added for file managing (be careful)

  • RIL
  • Audio - Volume not the best, try to fix with DSP Manager
  • Bluetooth
  • Wifi
  • Calibration - Recommended to use it with a pen/stick

Bugs/Not working:

  • Camera
  • SDCard mount on PC - Need to use card readed till this not fixed
  • Key lights
  • Missing aGPS
  • Missing FM Radio image
  • Ext2 filesystem on SD Card not supported

Installation

1. Flash a recovery image (tested with AmonRA and ClockworkMod too)

Method #1
2.a Copy the .zip file to your MicroSD card and boot the phone into recovery mode (call+volume-up+power)

Method #2
2.b Put device in recovery mode and start msusb and with adb or adb-windows
-----adb shell mount /sdcard/
-----adb push romFILE.zip /sdcard/

This method allways pushed properly onto sdcard no read errors

3. Choose "Flash zip from sdcard" and choose the zip you just copied.

4. Wipe data+cache before rebooting if it the first install of this ROM. When upgrading with future updates you propably won't need to wipe again.

OR

Install Superboot (via Windows PC)
Download Superboot: DOWNLOAD (MediaFire) / MIRROR (ROMraid / CoBlitz) and extract to a directory
Enter recovery mode by turning your device on while holding down 'volume down' and 'End call' (red) then powering on your device.
Note: The hourglass (zandloper) stays on the home screen
WINDOWS - double click 'superboot-windows.bat'
Phone will startup, seems to hang and eventually reboots itself.

Root the V845 (via Windows PC)

Download AmonRA Recovery 1.6.2: DOWNLOAD (MediaFire Pro) / MIRROR (CoBlitz / ROMraid) and extract the zip file
Enter recovery mode by turning your device on while holding down 'volume down' and 'End call' (red) then powering on your device.
Note: The hourglass (zandloper) stays on the home screen
WINDOWS PC - (ensure the V845 is connected via USB) double click 'install-recovery-windows.bat'
then run in cmd
fastboot-windows.exe reboot
or
Remove battery and start phone (not sure how to do this otherwise)

FIRST MAKE NAND BACKUP IN RECOVERY - Power + Volume Up + Call

WIPE RECOMMENDED!

awesome!

I see that you are trying to integrate the honeycomb player, which would be cool, but... wouldn't that require some kind of 3D acceleration? (like the 3DGallery app, which is kinda slow on this phone)

(also, if we are talking about "honeycombing" the phone...some more honeycomb stuff that could get ported to 240*320)

honeycomb-style locksreen
honeycomb boot anim

Hi Bitye,

This ROM looks very promising, looks like you are integrating some great components, I will keep an eye on this and test once the screen issues and D-pad issues are resolved. In the mean time do you think you could put some screenshots or a video link up for us to have a look?

Cheers

i can regular install this rom, and reboot after install. Then we know it comes the setup wizard. Well done, after some steps if I touch forward before setup complete, it comes an error message. After them the screen keeps black. What to do??? I think this rom is still buggy
