Question [Q] CM7 or Android Revolution?

Hey guys!

Wanted to know what you guys prefer/are using - Android Revolution or CM7 on your Inspire. Currently I'm using the stock rooted ROM and I'm loving it. I was using Android Revolution, but the tinny sound was unbearable for me after a while. Now that there's a fix for both AR and CM7, what do you recommend I flash? I don't mind Sense at all, but GB sounds pretty nice as well.

Opinions? Thanks!

I think u have to ask ur self if u really enjoy sense or not... I personally love it after coming from the xperia x10's timescale ui, but if u don't then cm7 all the way for speed cuz it zips... plus u could use the colorize widget to get a sense like feel on cm7

I like cm7 but I like the fact more that HTC sense downloads high quality FB images for my contacts. I dont think there is a way to do that on CM7, just the horrible quality images. That is what made me go back to sense... That along with the cm7 keyboard is tiny compared to the htc one.. Im sure I could find an apk somewher for it, but Ill just stick to sense for now.

Download the GB Keyboard from the market. The free one is bigger than the CM one and if you pay $.99 you get even more customization. Not saying this to try to get you to switch though. I even used it on Sense. It seems to be the best kb out there right now.

I noticed that CM7 was just released. I'm on Revolution and love it. CM7 makes me a bit nervous though. Install directions say to pick a radio to install, but then say that if you pick the wrong one you will brick your phone. That scares me. I didn't have to do that with Revolution. Are there benefits to CM7 that out-weigh that risk though? I can't find out a whole lot in the way of a comparison between CM7 and Revolution. I'd love to hear from people that have tried both to see what their impressions were.

Obviously you have a radio installed so it's not an issue. If you are rocking the stock radio just do a full wipe and flash CM7 and you will be good to go. I did that and then changed my radio and everything has always worked well for me. The battery for me isnt too bad and I haven't run into many issues that bother me. I LOVE having CM7/Vanilla Android on this phone. CM7 also has built in capabilities to OC up to 1.5Ghz.

I liked cm7 and it might be a little faster but .......the reason i got the inspire 4g is cause of the screen size. I get alot of MMS slide shows and on cm7 the pictures are TINY unless you want to go to the trouble of saving them to get a full screen pic. With that being said I'll stick to AR for now so I get full screen MMS slide show pics like the stock htc rom did.

So, since I already have a working radio on Revolution, can I just back up the ROM with Tibu and then use Rom Manager to install CM7 to check it out?
