Weird wifi problem
I am having the strangest problem with my wifi. When connecting to the wifi network at my friends house, the network seems to have some sort of problem keeping both of us connected. He is using an HTC EVO currently on CyanogenMod7, and I am on the EB16 PnP, but the problem occurred when he was on the stock rom and I was on the 2.1 PnP and the EA11 PnP.
Basically what happens is when I connect to the network, he loses internet connection, and sometimes wifi connection on his phone, and then we both get stuck in a kind of loop where both of our phones will alternate between failing to connect, saying that the wifi password is incorrect, a failure to obtain an IP address, and brief periods of connectivity.
We have tried many solutions including resetting the router, which sometimes works for an hour or so. We have tried setting up reserved IPs for each of our phones on the router to no avail, we have tried many different router and phone settings and nothing seems to solve the problem. His router is a DLink DIR-665.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
ETA: We have both been on the same wifi network at other locations, and I have been on other wifi networks with other people using android phones, including a Captivate and another Mesmerize without issue.
