THX a lot

...
Mine is the same way. I9000 > I896 > Rogers.
I can live with that but I would assume Rogers isn't going to think it's stock.

Thank you very much TRusselo.
I installed Custom Android Font Switcher, the result was my phone going into a boot loop.
Your method was the only thing that worked for me.

thanks
see me in there? i helped with it and am hosting the file.
and it will not fix to stock standards.
it is a cosmetic fix only!

it works and looks good but isnt part of returning to stock!

actually if need that fix, you arent on stock bootloaders
the way to get back to stock bootloaders is covered in the first post in BIG RED LETTERS.

That is all you need is a cosmetic fix for warranty purposes. So really nothing wrong with keeping gingerbread bootloaders and using this to get i896 splash back. It makes getting into download mode easier

most users for piece of mind (and trust me have had the conversation)
want full REAL stock for sending back for warranty.

if samsung tried to boot it using the button combos in the warranty repair department
and realize it is the gingerbread combo. you warranty IS VOID!!

cosmetic fix is for custom roms.
NOT FOR FLASHING STOCK.

DO NOT POST BAD INFO IN A STOCK ROM THREAD

I didn't have Gingerbread on it, as far as I know.
I did try a couple of other fixes that didn't fix it.
I'll run through your steps as shown in the first post.

Thanks

well i was talking to the guy that was using gingerbread.
for you. you MUST have flashed the new bootloaders...
or flashed a params. lfs from an i9000 rom.

the very first screen is controlled by the primary bootloader
the second screen is the kernel
and the animation is in the rom.

the stock rogers and att bootloader call for the file " logo_atnt.jpg " in the params.lfs folder.
the gingerbread bootloaders call for "logo.jpg" in that folder.

if that folder or the bootloaders got changed your boot sequence will change.

to have stock bootloaders and params.lfs flash ATT one click then my stock overtop.
